Как же он сможет понять, что своим упрямством делает несчастными всех родных?Развязку фильма часто толкуют неверно, считая ее хэппи-эндом. Этот хэппи-энд обманчив, как и во многих других голливудских картинах. Несмотря на видимость, Эпли так ничего и не понял, и его поведение не изменилось ни на йоту. Да, он одобряет брак дочери с любимым человеком. Но женщин своего рода он всегда считал чудачками. Для него важно одно, что его сын пойдет по проторенной дорожке.
